EP Launch @ Transit Cocktail Lounge, Federation Square!
What a night!! Talk about “bar with a view of the city”!! We had the chance to play in one of Melbourne’s most delightfully atmospheric venues, Transit Cocktail Lounge, above Transport and Taxi on Federation Square. This place is clearly one of Melbourne’s hot spots for exhibiting the creativity of it’s own original artists and musicians.
Although our footage included underneath here is a little hazy, hope you enjoy one of our newest additions: “You’re My Home”. I was wrapped to include the grand piano in a gig again! This cruisy ballad is my attempt to capture what it feels like to have someone in your life that is like a soul-mate, a resting place, a safe house, and the other half of you in some cases. I love letting the song build to the soaring declarations of “You’re My Home” at the end of the piece, putting an emphasis on the joy it brings to have this ‘home’.WE HAVE A FEW MORE SONGS TO COME SO KEEP WATCH ON THE SITE IF YOU MISSED THE GIG OR ENJOY THE TUNES
We will be putting more footage on and several other new songs that do not feature on the EP but are giving our sound and style much more definition. Hope you like
Bless ya, Jess Lee xx

Gigging in Melbourne
The Jess Lee band are finally able to announce our EP launch!!! 25th March @ 9pm!We are blessed to have the beautifully stylish and swish Transit Cocktail Lounge above Transport in Federation Square housing our night, and what a night it will be! Transit is making sure we have the comfy and cruisy atmosphere we want, with couches, an incredible view of the city and river on the balcony, drinks and food available @ the bar and stunning tunes to relax to!
We will be joined by Royal Parade who are fixing a name for themselves in the Melbourne scene. The band have been a pleasure to play with in recent times and we can’t wait to join forces again!! Theirs will be a CD you will want constantly on your playlist! They will have EPs available on the night!
One of the things I love about going to a gig is taking someone who has not heard the bands that are playing before. I know it can be hard to spread the word as a newly emerging band in Melbourne. If everyone of us who went to see live music in Melbourne, decided to take someone they knew had not heard the band before, I wonder if bands would find their fan base increasing much quicker….
No matter how many sites are out there that promote new music in a city, it is still not always the most effective way to spread the word….
If you catch my drift, and have someone in mind, come along on the 25th of March and bring someone you know has not heard either of the bands before

We also have a new myspace that has a few more updates to gooooo www.myspace.com/thisisjesslee If you are not yet a friend then join me in the fun!! We are also on twitter so follow along @ www.twitter.com/thisisjesslee.
We have some very exciting news to begin the year with: OUR NEW EP IS FINALLY OUT!!!
Yes we know and hear all the sighs, it has been a long time coming! Some may even think I am bluffing now!
(the only hitch at the moment is that the itunes link will be working in about two weeks as it takes a little while for itunes to register them. Email me or contact me on the facebook band page “Jess Lee” if you would like to order one early!!!)
But thanks to a hard working team, an amzing producer, Jimi Maroudas, our masterer, Jack the Bear, our friends at Orsino Images ( who helped me get my very first song, years ago, into a film clip and showed me I could get somwhere in this industry http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWyOYqPMk0A), our wonderful photographers who have helped us out in so many last minute adventures, Jess Mac (who is the creative spark behind the main shots on the website and the myspace site (www.myspace.com.thisisjesslee), and Sam Zweck (who is always thinking ahead of us and knows we need photos before we do!).
We also have some incredible musicians to thank for joining in with us along the way. My bro Josh Fuhrmeister is the insightful and creative know-how behind a lot of the increible ideas on our new EP, and he is also the man behind the kit!! Our buddy Aaron Fraser was good enough to step in at the last minute and help us get all the artwork done for the cover and is probably still reeling from the hectic whirlwind of it all!
We have lots more news to come, with the EP LAUNCH details being finalised this week,
TALK SOON,
the jess lee band!!
